Taz (ID#55399) is a gorgeous 9 year old Rottweiler Shepherd mix that came to the shelter when his owner moved. The owner told us Taz is housebroken and would do best in a home with no other animals as he wants all the human love and attention he can get.
He’s friendly and walks well on a leash. Taz should be responsive to training. He needs an adult only home as he is too large for small children. From one of our volunteers: “Taz loves to play fetch. He drops the tennis ball at my feet. I ask him to sit and wait until I throw it again and he does!. He certainly does not act his age.
Taz will take a treat very gently from my hand. He craves human attention.” Taz would love to be in his new home for the holidays.
Shelby (ID#57778) is a tortoiseshell medium size female cat. She is up to date with her shots and very calm. Shelby was given up when her owner had to move where pets were not allowed. She is looking for a place to call home and a family to love her. Shelby has already been spayed. Can you find it in your heart to make Shelby a part of your family?
Cookie (ID#58228) is a shepherd, hound mix. This poor girl has a real hard luck story. Originally adopted from the North Shore Animal League as a puppy, she came to our shelter when she was five and her owners had a new baby and moved. She was adopted and returned a year later when her new family split up due to divorce.
Two more adoptions and two more returns. We've found she is not patient with toddlers and definitely needs a home without cats and other dogs. She may need some refreshing on her housebreaking but should make a great pet given some time and lots of love.
From one of the volunteers: "Cookie is very well-behaved, smart, loving and gentle." In the right home, we're sure she'll thrive. Cookie is 6 years old now and hoping that her next home will be her forever home.
Toby (ID#56774) is a domestic short hair, black and white cat who came to the shelter with 4 other cats when his owner could no longer care for them. He gets along fine with other cats and is about 7 years old. He has lots of love to give. He will make a great companion. Toby is up to date with routine shots and has been altered.
Jill (ID#54977) is a Rottweiler mix. Jack and Jill were abandoned, chained to a tree outside the shelter. A little nervous when she first arrived, Jill tends to follow Jack's lead and she is doing better now.
She enjoys attention and loves toys, especially tennis balls. She is well-mannered and walks nicely on the leash and will potty as soon as she is taken outside. The shelter tried to find a home for both Jack and Jill together, but was not successful.
Jack was placed with an assisted living facility, but Jill is still with us. At first she was depressed that her buddy was gone but now she is back to normal. She needs time to get to know you but once she does, she is great. She is now one of the volunteer favorites. Jill is about 5-6 years old. Jill has been spayed and is ready to find her forever home.
Baby (ID#56134) is a beautiful brindle American Staffordshire terrier mix. She came in as a stray. She is about 2-3 years old. At the shelter she seems OK with other dogs her size and behaves well in the kennel. She is energetic and excitable and loves to be handled.
Baby will try to climb into your lap and smother you with kisses. She has so much love to share; we think she'll make a great addition to your family. How can you resist the cute little face!
