The Bergen County Animal Shelter is located at 100 United Lane, Teterboro, NJ.  The phone number is 201-229-4600.  Hours for adoption are 1:00 to 5:00 seven days a week.  Thursday we are open from 1:00 to 7:30.

Baby – (ID#57073) Baby is a handsome Labrador retriever, pointer mix. He is about five years old. His owner told us he is housebroken and OK with other dogs. Baby does not seem to like other dogs at the shelter, so it may depend on the dog. Baby is very hyper and easily excited, jumpy and unruly.

He needs training, but is very friendly and playful with humans. Baby needs a lot of exercise and would benefit from obedience training. He would love to be included in the outdoor activities of his new family. Can you open your heart to this boy?

Oreo – (ID#59428) is a domestic short hair-black and white female cat.
Oreo came to the shelter with her sister Precious. She is 5 years old and nervous living at the shelter. When she is held she will curl up in your arms. She loves to have her super silky fur pet. Oreo is up to date with shots and has tested negative for FIV and FeLV. Oreo has been spayed and is waiting for her new home.

Jaime – (ID#57591) Jaime is a beautiful tan and white pit bull terrier mix. She was picked up as a stray, running with another female pit who we suspect is her sister. They are about 2-3 years old. Jaime is a sweet, friendly dog who responds well to humans. She did well on her behavioral evaluation.

Jaime will be spayed before leaving the shelter. From one of our volunteers: "Jaime is very housebroken and goes potty as soon as she is out. She is beginning to learn how to walk well on the leash and not pull. Continued direction will help her. With a few corrections, she will walk nicely by your side."

Jaime needs a lot of exercise as she has started to gain weight at the shelter. If you are looking for a running partner, she’s the girl for you!

Bailey – (D#58514) is a 1 year old, Labrador Retriever mix. Bailey came to us when her owner went away to college. He told us Bailey is housebroken and OK with other dogs and with children. We've found Bailey to be highly excitable and untrained, so we don't feel she'd be good in a family with young children, though teenagers may be OK.

She is mouthy and jumpy and very difficult to control on leash. This happy youngster likes attention and was fine with handling and not possessive. With training and lots of exercise, Bailey should turn into a great dog.

Macy – (ID#58381) is a young, happy pit bull terrier mix. Macy came in as a stray in November. She is very active and playful, loving balls and squeaky toys. She thinks everything is a game and is very mouthy. Only a year old, this youngster just needs a family committed to providing exercise and training.

A home with no young children would be best for her. Teenagers would be OK. Macy is looking for that perfect family. Can it be yours?
