2005 Recycling

DPW
Recycling Depot will be open ONLY on the second and fourth
Saturdays of each month from April to November.
Note:
Due to holiday schedule,
no grass pickup on
Monday, May 30th, Monday July 4th, Monday September 5th.
All
Recyclables
are collected
throughout the Borough on Wednesdays. Please place
materials curbside after 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday evenings.
Please place all recycling containers in plain view for collection,
next to your driveway. No plastic bags.
Household
Trash
is collected
every Wednesday and Saturday.
Covered containers should be placed at curbside after 6:00 p.m.
the evening before collection. No more than six items
should be put out at the curb at any one time. Maximum weight
is 30 lbs. per container.
Christmas
Trees
will be
recycled from January 3, 2005 thru January 14, 2005. Please
remove rope and plastic bags from the trees before placing trees
at the curb.
Construction
Material
can be
put out for collection on trash days. All scrap building
material should be securely and safely tied in small bundles weighing
30 lbs. or less.
No more than six items should be put out at the curb at any one
time. Contractor Debris Is Not Permitted.
Household
Appliances
will be
picked up on scheduled garbage collection days. They will
be picked up at the end of the route so that they can be recycled.
Household furniture and mattresses can be put out with
the trash for pick-up. Due to freon regulations, we can
no longer pick-up refrigerators and/or air conditioners.
Residents must dispose of these items privately. Any questions,
please call Borough Hall.
Newspapers/Other
Paper
refers
to all Black and White Newsprint, all colored sections, inserts,
comics, magazines, junk mail, office paper, computer paper, and
books (with hard covers removed). Please put newspapers/other
paper out for pick-up on alternate recycling days in blue or gray
containers, or tied securely.
Commingled
Materials
must be
placed at curbside in the designated black recycling container
only. All material should be clean and free from
food. Labels must be removed from tin cans. All plastic
containers used in the kitchen, bath or laundry room can be recycled.
DPW
Recycling Depot
is open
only on the second and fourth Saturday of each month
from April thru November. The depot is located
on Concord Street and is open from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00
p.m. Wood, concrete, scrap metal, yard waste and cardboard
along with used motor oil, car batteries, automobile tires and
household batteries can be recycled at the depot. Proof
of residency will be required. No Contractors Please.
Grass
Clippings
will be
recycled every Monday from April 4, 2005 through October 31, 2005.
No grass will be collected on Memorial Day, July 4th and
Labor Day. Grass clippings must be in paper biodegradable
leaf bags only - no plastic bags. All bags must
be closed. No open tops. No dirt will be collected. Branches and
other yard waste should be brought to the DPW Yard on recycleing
days.
*Recycling
Containers
will be
on sale at the Civic Center on the First Saturday of every
month (except July) from 9:00 a.m. until Noon. Leaf
bags will
be on sale April thru November (except July).
Leaves
should
be swept to the street or put in paper biodegradable leaf bags
only, not plastic bags or other containers, from October 3,
2005 through November 30, 2005. Filled leaf bags will be
collected as the streets are swept. From December 1st
through December 30th all leaves must be bagged - no plastic.
There will be no leaf collection after December 30,
2005. Do not
mix twigs, branches or other waste with the leaves. Other material
will not be picked up.
