manufacturer.
 

Merchant Marine WWII 

For England you are entitled to a pension, also if your ship sunk other ships you obtain bonus points.  If they up to 20 you get a higher pension or you can transfer those points to another Merchant Marine.  Just get in touch with the Liaison officer at a British Embassy.

Veteran/Spouse
Note: NJ Veteran Property Tax Relief goes from $50 to $100 this year and goes up another $50 every year till max of $250.  This relief continues even after veteran is deceased.

NJ Programs for Seniors

Next time you go to the drug store, get a application for PADD/Lifeline Benefits.

PADD is Pharmaceutical Assistance for the Aged & Disable, so the next time you pay for your pills its only $5.00 for each type.  This program is based on Social Security and income up to $20,016 for single and $24,542 for married couples.  

New Jersey resident for Senior Gold Plan are eligible if your 65 or at least 18 collecting Social Security Disablity Benefits.

Your income is between $20,016 and $30,016 if you are single

Couples with more than $100,000 in assets not counting their home are disqualified, but may qualify for Senior Gold $24,542 to $34,542

 Lifeline is for gas, oil and electric.  Also based on same as above $225 a year.

Another program that pays for Medicare Part B in full or some of it is (SLMB)
Specified Low-Income Medicare Beneficiary. This also is based on Social Security/pension, income and other assets. $4000 for single and $6000 for married.

Free Services Available

Disabled homeowners & homeowners over 60 may be eligible for free handyman service through the Volunteer Center of Bergen County 201-489-7790.

Volunteers perform non-emergency minor plumbing,electrical,installation & reoair,painting,tiling,door & window replacement also appliance repair. Clients pay only for materials.
