MAKE SURE that your car is in good repair and has plenty of gas

Whenever possible, DON'T TRAVEL ALONE

LOCK CAR and roll up windows whenever you are in your car

DECIDE on a well-lit traveling route. Let someone know your plans and estimated arrival time

DON'T OPEN your car door or window to strangers if you feel threatened

PARK in safe, well-lit areas. Don't walk to dark or secluded parking areas alone

If a carjacker demands your car keys - give them up

MAKE NOTE of carjacker's description and get away route

Know your tag number, and CALL POLICE IMMEDIATELY
